Guide to adding content | How the Article Management System works and how to use it.
This will be amended as an ongoing process as the syetm develops and finds its own feet.

The Article Management System (hereby referred to as the AMS) is a module for PostNuke called PagEd. Two others were considered (Pagesetter and ContentExpress) but these were a bit quirky and didn't really work how I wanted the system to behave. As you will see when logged in, you have a menu on each side of the screen. On the left you have the content menu, which shows a list of all available topics (ask an admin if you want another added). If you click on one of the available topics, you will get a list of articles/pages within that category. Each of these pages shows each article title, the initial block of text (known as the 'Ingress' and then a read 'more link' if there is more text (known as a subsection). On the right you will see the AMS Menu, which contains the options available to whichever level of user ('user','editor','admin') that you currently are.
If you click on New page in the AMS menu, this is where you add a new article. Each page is made up from sub-sections, each of which can have a block of text and an image associated with it. Select how many of these sections (in addition to the 'Ingress' text) you would like to have, select a topic (if neccessary), whether you want to you one of the templates or not (will be explained later when I've figured it out myself) and then the type of layout (drop down box shows those available). Everything else you can pretty much leave as default, unless of course you want to override the standard formatting. Then click on 'Use, proceed to add content'. Everything onwards should make sense.
Now the only real bug at the moment is that although the system is set to let you see your own articles, this doesn't happen after you submit them and go back to your page manager, so for the moment, preview often so you get it right before making your submissions. Then get one of the editors or admin to approve your submissions and make any changes if needed...
